Watauga County Fair Returns to Wrap Up the Summer Tuesday – Saturday, Aug. 16-20

The Watauga County Fair is coming back to close out the summer with a week of food, fun and games for the whole family.

From Tuesday to Friday, Aug. 16-19, the fair will open up at 5 p.m. and operate until 11 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 20, enjoy extended hours from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The fairgrounds can be found at the Mountain View Speedway in Boone each day.

Each day will have different events that can be found by checking out the fair on Facebook.

Live music, racing, dunk tanks and demolition derbies are just a few of the many attractions guests can enjoy and participate in at the event. Most of the events will take place on Friday and Saturday as soon as the fairgrounds open.

There is a $5 admission fee for each day of the fair, which includes everything around the track. Wristbands for the many rides will also be on sale for $18 each. Rides at the fair range from the Ferris wheel to bumper cars. with many fast-paced rides in between.

Visitors can expect to have a great time by checking out the many attractions, food vendors and activities that will be hosted at the fair. Nationwide Insurance will also present a NASCAR racing stimulator the last two days of the festival to show participants what it’s really like on the track.
