June 20, 2013. What happens when a young boy plants Wonder Beans in his own backyard? For Jack, it is the beginning of a great adventure! Join us at Watauga High School when the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) and over 40 local students present “Jack and the Beanstalk”, an original musical adaptation.
The play premieres at 6 p.m. Friday, June 21 and 3 p.m. Saturday, June 22 at the Watauga High School Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and are available at the door.

MCT is the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for over 40 years from Montana to Japan, and they will visit over 65,000 children in 1200 communities in all 50 states and 17 countries this year.
A Tour Actor/Director team arrived in Watauga County on Sunday evening with the set, lights, costumes, props, and make-up. During five days of intensive rehearsal, participating children have learned their lines, staging, songs, and dances. The production has been designed with suitable parts for various age, skill, and experience levels. A few students have been cast as assistant directors, and have focused on technically oriented tasks such as mounting the set, working lights and sound equipment, and assisting with teaching the show to the cast. One of the two Actor/Directors from Missoula will play a supporting role in the production.
