Rain Ballew Crass

December 13, 2005 – October 14, 2018

Rain Ballew Crass passed away at home on October 14, 2018 held by his adoring parents, who will forever carry his determination and wonder in their hearts. He still fills their lives with his sunshine.

Rain was born December 13, 2005 in Tennessee where he spent the first 10 years of his young life in Roane County, TN.  He lived on a farm where he raised chickens, grew blueberries, and, with his Op, helped restore the farmhouse that his great great great grandfather and great great grandfather built.  He loved being on the farm running through sassafrass tunnel, trekking to the deep, dark woods, watching the train blast by, and observing the wonder of the world all around him.

In 2016 he moved with his family to Boone, NC.  He figured if you lived where you wanted to vacation you could enjoy it that much more.  He loved the mountains, parades, and being out and about in Boone.  Rain was a student at Two Rivers Community School, where he found a sense of belonging.

His family asks that you carry on Rain’s spirit by being kind and accepting, dancing, taking things apart to see how they work, and gaming on.  They would also like to thank family, friends, and the Two Rivers Community for supporting them on this journey.  A Celebration of Rain will be planned for a later date.
