Ann Nunley Trivett (Nov. 21, 1935 – March 6, 2016)
Ann Nunley Trivett, 80, of Beech Mountain Road, Elk Park, passed away Sunday evening, March 6, 2016 at her home.
At the time of her death, she was calling out the name of Jesus as he took her home. Born November 21, 1935 in Holston, Va., she was a daughter of Richard and Bertie Nunley Harmon. Mrs. Trivett was a member of Beech Mountain Baptist Church. Her home was always filled with family that she adored. Ann was always ready to prepare a delicious meal from her vegetable garden for anyone stopping by for a visit.
Mrs. Trivett is survived by her son, Jimmy Trivette of Elk Park; five grandchildren, Nathan Trivette, Jake Trivette, Matthew Trivette, Luke Trivette and Sommer Trivette, and two great-grandchildren, Candace Trivette and Tatum Cook, all of Elk Park; and two sisters, Nola Trivett of Chattanooga, TN and Mary Jane Hart of Jonesborough, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Allen Trivett, two sons, Matthew and Lincoln Trivette; four brothers, James, Jerry, Bill and Jack Nunley; and two sisters, Shirley Baird and Gladys Humphreys.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday evening, March 10, 2016, at 6 oclock at the Beech Mountain Community Center, officiated by Rev. Robert Taylor. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 6 oclock at the community center.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday morning, March 11th, at 11 oclock at the McGuire Cemetery.

Dennis C. Moody (Feb. 21, 1954 - March 5, 2016)
Dennis C. Moody, 62, of 175 Beaver Horn Ranch Road, Vilas, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 5, 2016, at his home.
Dennis was born February 21, 1954 in Watauga County a son of Louise Stout Moody and the late Henry Clay Moody. He was a farmer and a former mechanic at B. Miller Ford. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was surrounded by family and friends he dearly loved.
Dennis is survived by two daughters, Stacie Moody Barber and husband Brandon of Charleston, South Carolina, and Jamie Moody Roark and husband Michael of Vilas; four granddaughters, Molly Roark, Haven Barber, Miles Barber, and Juliana Roark; his mother, Louise Stout Moody of Vilas; one sister, Virginia Harmon and husband Clyde of Lenoir; one brother, Darrell Moody and wife Amy of Vilas; two nephews, Jason Harmon and wife Carmen, of Lenoir and Mavrick Moody of Vilas, and his special friends and neighbors, Carol Healy, Jeremy Hodges, and David Warren.
Funeral services for Dennis C. Moody will be conducted Monday evening, March 7, 2016, at 7:30 PM, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 5:00 until 7:00 o’clock. Officiating will be Reverend Derick Wilson. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday morning, at 11:00 o’clock, at the Upper Beaver Dam Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, from 5:00 until 7:00 o’clock, at the funeral home, prior to the service. At other times, friends may call at the Moody residence, 175 Beaver Horn Ranch Road, Vilas. Dante Courtland Buchanan (March 7, 1941 – March 5, 2016)
Dante Courtland Buchanan, 74 of Lida Lane, Newland, passed away Saturday morning, March 5, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Born March 7, 1941 in Avery County, he was a son of Wade and Ona Vance Buchanan.
Mr. Buchanan formerly owned and operated Spear Memorials in the Spear community.
Dante is survived by his wife, Sara Sudderth Buchanan; three daughters, Betsy Austin of Telford, TN, Rachel Buchanan of Asheville and Suzanne Cabrera and husband, Edgar of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Harper and Wren Austin, Silas Buchanan, and Max and Miles Cabrera; sister, Deliah Johnson and husband, Glenn of Crossnore; and brother, Douglas Buchanan and wife, Geraldine, of Newland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen Buchanan.
Memorial graveside services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, March 8, 2016 at 2 oclock at the Clark Cemetery in Crossnore, off Walt Clark Road. Officiating will be Dr. Jamie Johnson.

Mrs. Margaret Yates Mast, 93 of Sugar Grove, passed away Friday morning, March 4, 2016 at her daughters home. Born February 16, 1923 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Ethel Matheson Yates. Margaret was a homemaker and a member Willowdale Baptist Church for 76 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Mast Presnell and husband Howard of Marion, her grandchildren; Eric and Melissa Adams, April Gardin, Kelly and Jason Bass, Angie Wall, several great grandchildren, Brandon Mast, Paige Mast, Andrea, Annette, and Jennifer Gardin, Charlie Adams and wife Tori, Garrett Adams and fiancé Jamie Cosby, Samuel Adams, Rainey, Tanner, and Gabriel Honeycutt, and Austin Bass, and one great-great grandson, William Hunter Mast, two sisters, Phyllis Yates of Vilas and Imogene Blake of Ash, NC, and one brother Fred Yates, Jr., of Vilas, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Jefferson Mast, her son, Robert Hal Mast, one great grandson, William Ronald Mast, Jr, one sister, Leitha Kaiser, four brothers, Olas, Larry, Dexter and Howard Yates.
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Yates Mast will be conducted Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2016 at 3 oclock at Willowdale Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Eugene Braswell. Burial will follow in the Mast Cemetery.

Guy C. Marsh (Jan. 30, 1922 - March 4, 2016)
Guy C. Marsh, 94, of Friendship Baptist Church Road, Jefferson, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, at James H. Quillen Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Mr. Marsh was born January 30, 1922 in Ashe County, North Carolina, a son of the late Robert Franklin Marsh and Mary Elizabeth Burkett Marsh.
He was an electrical engineer, and an U.S. Army Veteran, having served in World War II. Guy is survived by one daughter, Mary Ellen of Jefferson, and five sons, Charles, Jerry, and Larry, all of Boone, Donald of Jefferson, and Thomas of West Jefferson. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Mary Zimmerman Marsh, and his father and mother, Robert Franklin Marsh and Mary Elizabeth Burkett Marsh.
A memorial service for Guy C. Marsh will be conducted at a later date. Edrith Payton Bray (Oct. 26, 1914 – March 3, 2016)
Mrs. Edrith Payton Bray, 101, of Rocky Glen Lane, Blowing Rock, passed away Wednesday morning, March 3, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.
Mrs. Bray was born October 26, 1914 in Olaton, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Cortus Payton, Sr., and Nora Alice Patterson Payton.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the Aiken United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bray is survived by two sons, Reggie Bray and wife Ellen of Blowing Rock and Harry C. Bray, Jr., and wife Kim of Bloomington, Illinois; three granddaughters, Corin Bray of Charlotte, Dr. Regina Brown and husband Aaron of Chillcothe, Ohio and Abigail Bray of Bloomington, Illinois; two grandsons, Stanley Bray of Boulder, Colorado and Jimmy Schuler of Baltimore, Maryland; and one sister, Louanne Quiggins of Louisville, Kentucky.
She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, including niece Pat Quiggins of Louisville, Kentucky, and a great-niece, Julia Paige Quiggins of Nashville, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry C. Bray, Sr., and two brothers, Cortus Payton, Jr., and Walter Collis Payton.
A memorial service for Mrs. Edrith Payton Bray will be conducted Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 o’clock at First Baptist Church in Blowing Rock. Officiating will be Reverend Rusty Guenther.

Delilah Tester Harmon (July 6, 1913 – March 1, 2016)
Mrs. Delilah Tester Harmon, 102, of Bryant Combs Road, Sugar Grove, passed away Tuesday evening, March 1, 2016 at Watauga Medical Center.
Mrs. Harmon was born July 6, 1913 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Jack Amos Tester and Lillie Mae Glenn Tester. She was a retired employee of Appalachian State University, and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Mrs. Harmon is survived by one daughter, Pauline H. Epley and husband Fred of Melvindale, Michigan; one son, Ronda Harmon and partner Therese Webber of Sebring, Florida; seven granddaughters, Crystal Baumdraher and husband Don, of Melvindale, Michigan, Sherry Sleight of Melvindale, Wendy Barath and husband Keith, of Canton, Michigan, Tracy Magusin of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Rachel Brown and husband Scott, of Warren, Massachusetts, Betsy Steff of Collins, New York, and Evelyn Gier and husband David, of North Collins, New York; three grandsons, William Epley of Melvindale, Michigan, William Harmon and wife Lee, of Palm City, Florida, and Mark Harmon of Medina, New York, and one sister, Anna Lee Lawrence of Zionville. She is also survived by twenty-four great-grandchildren, seventeen great great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Eli Harmon; her second husband, Luther Thomas Harmon, four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Delilah Tester Harmon will be conducted Saturday afternoon, March 5, 2016, at 2:00 o’clock, at Antioch Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 1:00 until 2:00 o’clock. Officiating will be Pastor Daniel Lawrence and Reverend Quincy Norris. Burial will follow in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon, from 2:00 until 4:00 o’clock, and again from 6:00 until 8:00 o’clock, at Hampton Funeral Service. At other times, friends may call at the Harmon residence, 135 Bryant Combs Road, Sugar Grove.
