March 1, 2013. Due to icy roads in the isolated parts of Avery County and icy roads in northern and western parts of Watauga County and snow in the forecast, Avery County and Watauga County Schools will be closed Friday, March 1.
With the closing of school on Friday for Watauga County Schools, there will be no Saturday school on Saturday, March 2.
