WAMY provides services to make homes safer and more accessible keep kids safe and in school, help people increase their education and find jobs, and lead healthy lifestyles.

“WAMY is there to meet the needs of the community, so our programs and services change over the years. We are here to fill the gaps and make sure everyone has access to an opportunity to make their lives better,” says Soto.

All proceeds from the event will be used to continue programs such as the Gardening program which give the low-income elderly a voucher to use for gardening supplies. For many seniors, their garden provides more than just food for them and their families. It gives them a purpose, a reason to get outdoors and keeps them active.

Thelma S. states, “I garden so we can eat through the winter. We can’t afford to buy everything, just the staples/basics that me and my daughter and her family all share. I need to know during the spring and summer that I will have enough put up to make it through winter.”

The Garden Gala will include a lunch, inspiring testimonials and a silent and live auction led by Jenny Miller of Blowing Rock. Some of the exciting items up for bid are four park-hopper passes to Disney World, original artwork by Anthony Coffey and Joe Miller, Smoky Mountain vacation getaways and much more!
