Visit Sugar Mountain This Summer, Several Events Presented to the Community

 

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, North Carolina. Tuesday, June 20, 2017.  To begin the summer season, the Village of Sugar Mountain in cooperation with Sugar Mountain Resort will host the first annualSummit Crawl & Classic Car and Truck Cruise-in on Saturday, July 1.  

 

Run, hike, or crawl as fast as you can to Sugar Mountain’s 5,300’ peakby way of the Easy Street, Gunther’s Way, and Northridge slopes. Summit Crawl registration is available anytime online, or in-personMonday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., through Friday, June 30 at Sugar Mountain Resort. Entry fee includes a t-shirt and downhill transportation on the Summit Express, a high-speed six-passenger chairlift. Start time is 10 a.m.

 

Cruise into Sugar Mountain Resort with your classic car or truck, which must be 25 years old or older, and park it in the classic vehicle parking area before 9 a.m. If you’d like, RSVP to events@skisugar.com to let us know that you’ll be showing off your treasure. If you’re not a classic caror truck collector, for fun meander through the line-up of classic vehicles.  

 

From 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. the Summit Express will operate for the public and live music will play from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.and the Sugar Mountain Sports Shop will be open too, all during Sugar’s first-ever Summit Crawl & Classic Car and truck Cruise-in.

 

On Tuesday, July 4 sit and relax until dark with a cool beverage while you watch the fireworks display from the top of Sugar Mountain. The Summit Express will carry passengers from the ski resort’s base to its peak and back down before and after the show. Last ride down is at 10 p.m.

 

Any weekend (plus Monday and Tuesday, July 3 and 4) from July 1 through September 4, just about everything is breathtaking atop Sugar’s 5,300’ peak. So, enjoy the scenery and the fresh air while riding the Summit Express to the mountain’s highest point. That same time period, shop in the ski resort’s sports and gift store located inside the base lodge.

 

Daily from dawn until dusk through October 22 hike or mountain bike the miles of trails which wander throughout the Village of Sugar Mountain. Trail maps are available at online or in a black, marked mailbox located at the base of Sugar Mountain Resort’s Flying Mile slope.
