Now in its fourth year, Vintage Valle Music will continue sharing “community” music, fellowship and loving gifts with neighbors at Baird’s Creek Presbyterian Church.

Folks gather for Vintage Valle Music every third Sunday in the summer months of May, June, July and August. Entertainment starts at 4 p.m. and ends around 6 p.m.  There is no charge!  Each month  features a giving opportunity such as collecting non-perishable food for Watauga Hunger Coalition and school supplies for local back-to-school drives.

Come as you are, stay all afternoon or just sit a spell and enjoy the gift of music our neighbors bring to the “back porch” of Baird’s Creek Music is an eclectic mix of bluegrass, folk, gospel, country, patriotic, pop, jazz, old-time and new, familiar and original – whatever our artists feel led to share.  Come and join us.  There’ll be no preaching, nor passing the hat, just good-time music and neighborly visits.

Baird’s Creek Presbyterian Church is located at 2147 N.C. Hwy 194 S, Vilas NC 28692, just 2 miles north of The Original Mast General Store, in Valle Crucis.

May 2015 performances included Folk & Dagger, a lively folk trio, and the Pineola Bell Ringers, who shared their unique style of hand bell music handed down through the ages.

Other upcoming Vintage Valle Music performances:

JULY 19:  After years of trying to mesh our schedules, July 19, will see the first Vintage Valle Music appearance of area bluegrass music favorites, The Dollar Brothers.  Also on that date, The Sunday Singers will reintroduce to our community shape note singing, an a cappella choral style of hymn singing handed down by our nation’s settlers and kept alive by these faithful artists. Then, buckle your seat belts for an exciting switch in the musical styles as, for our fourth year, we joyfully share the Junaluska Gospel Choir, the High Country’s crown jewel of gospel music.

The Dollar Brothers have a website, http://www.thedollarbrothers.com/, and a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Dollar-Brothers/411703268866184?fref=ts.

AUG. 16:  After a year’s hiatus, Vintage Valle Music happily welcomes back Creekside Grass, another of our local bluegrass groups, our friends and neighbors.  Then, our grand finale, Turkey Tracks Trio brings their unique style of original and familiar old-tyme, folk, country and Americana tunes to one of their most appreciative audiences, a fitting musical highlight to fun-filled summer of Vintage Valle Music.

Creekside Grass has a web site, http://creeksidegrass.webs.com/, and a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/creeksidegrass1?fref=ts.
