Valle Crucis Park Seeks Young Artists for Valle Country Fair Held Saturday, Oct. 17

Valle Crucis Community Park is pleased to announce that it will once again host the Kids’ Corner and Young Artists’ Market at the Valle Country Fair on Saturday, Oct. 17. The Market will give artists age 16 and younger the opportunity to participate in the Fair by selling original, handmade artwork and crafts.

VCFlogoNow in its 37th year, the Valle Country Fair is hosted by Holy Cross Episcopal Church and serves as a fundraiser for High Country charities. Always held on the third Saturday in October, the Fair takes place on the grounds of the Valle Crucis Conference Center on NC Highway 194 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is free and ample parking is available in the adjoining field for $10 per car, $25 for a small bus or van, and $50 for a motor coach.

Like the juried exhibitors at the Fair, young artists participating in the Market will be asked to donate 10% of their earnings for the day to the Valle Crucis Community Park, a nonprofit organization. The Park will in turn give 10% of its total earnings to Holy Cross Church to help High Country residents in need. In recent years the Fair has generated more than $40,000 per year for charitable purposes.

Along with the Young Artists’ Market, the Kids’ Corner will feature activities for children of all ages including pumpkin decorating, making fall crafts, games, and a photo booth.

Artists interested in participating in the Market must register ahead of time. To register or for more information, contact Caroline Gandy at 828.963.9239 or caroline@vallecrucispark.org.
