‘Uncork! The Festival’ to Benefit Wine to Water Thursday, April 12 at 6 p.m. at Crestwood Resort & Spa

April 11, 2012. On Thursday, April 12, Crestwood Resort and Spa, located at 3236 Shulls Mill Road in Boone, will host the annual “Uncork! The Festival,” co-sponsored by The Table at Crestwood and The Gamekeeper Restaurant, as part of the seventh annual Blue Ridge Wine and Food Festival. The event begins at 6 p.m. and the theme this year is Ethiopian and South African sights and flavors.

Local businesses Climbing the Walls, Events by Elizabeth Ashley, The Gamekeeper, The Table at Crestwood and Wine to Water have collaborated to reinvent Crestwood with floral design, decor, food and wine and to match this year’s theme.

There will be a wide array of tapas-style foods available. Six different wines will also be available for tasting.

Guests will be greeted with a complimentary Blue Ridge Wine and Food Festival souvenir wine glass.

Music by Scott Smith will complete the evening’s festivities.

Uncork will benefit Wine to Water, a locally based non-profit founded by Doc Hendley.  Doc was a CNN Top 10 Hero of 2009 for his efforts with Wine to Water in supplying clean drinking water to Third World countries. Pre-signed copies of his latest book will be available for sale. Table-top competition ballots will be sold for $1 each, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Wine to Water.

Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. To purchase tickets in advance online, visit ticketweb.com.
