Nov. 25, 2014. National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter storm warning for “heavy wet snow” late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning for elevations higher than 3,000 feet.

Accumulation is forecasted to be four to seven inches across the higher elevations and one to four inches elsewhere, according to the NWS warning, to arrive “mostly” after midnight.

RaysWeather.com also reports that “a second round of showers” will arrive late Wednesday night and through the afternoon of Thanksgiving Day.

“Accumulations will be in the one to three inch range right along the Blue Ridge Parkway and at elevations below 2,800 feet. However, most of our region will pick up three to six inches by the time it’s all over Thursday afternoon,” RaysWeather.com notes in its forecast discussion.
