Two Out-of-Town Males Charged With Vehicle Theft, B&E, Larceny After Extensive Investigation

On May 12, the Boone Police Department charged Bradley O’Neil Caldwell, Jr, 21, of Granite Falls, and James Lewis Hairston, III, 22, of Winston Salem, for one count of felony Motor Vehicle Theft, one count of felony Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and one count of misdemeanor Larceny.

These charges occurred after an extensive investigation into a motor vehicle theft that occurred in Boone on Jan. 20.

Bradley O’Neil Caldwell, Jr, was served with the warrants while in custody at the Burke/Catawba Detention Center and is now under a $570,000 secured bond for these and other related crimes that occurred in multiple jurisdictions. His Watauga County court date is scheduled for May 15.

James Lewis Hairston, III, was served with warrants while in custody at the Forsythe County Detention Center and is now under a $50,000 secured bond for these and other related crimes that occurred in Forsythe County. His Watauga county court date is scheduled for June 18.
