Ghost Train at Tweetsie Railroad

The downpour we’ve seen this week continues into the weekend, and Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock has canceled its Ghost Train Halloween Festival events for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2-3, due to the forecast of heavy rain and a flood watch.

So far, weather permitting, you can still enjoy the park during the day on Friday and Saturday, the park’s phone message explains. The park plans to be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and no admission will be charged. If you’re willing to venture out into the elements, you can ride the train or visit the Main Street shops.

If you’ve already purchased your tickets for the Ghost Train Halloween Festival for either Friday or Saturday night, you have two options: You can either exchange them for another night during the 2015 season or you can receive a full refund for the amount you paid.

If you need to exchange your tickets or get a refund, call the ticket office at 828-264-9061.

The Ghost Train Halloween Festival will continue on Oct. 9-10 and will be open on Fridays and Saturdays through the end of October.
