Toomey, Needham Finish First & Second in Valle Crucis Elementary’s Spelling Bee

The best spellers in grades 4-8 at Valle Crucis School competed in a school-wide Spelling Bee Thursday and Jaidyn Toomey won the championship while Tyler Needham finished as runner up.

Mabel Elementary kicked off spelling bee season in Watauga County Schools earlier this month, and Blowing Rock, Mabel and Bethel elementary schools have all held spelling bees so far this fall.

Once all of the individual schools competitions are completed, the Watauga County Schools Spelling Bee takes place Friday, October 14.
