Nov. 20, 2014. Banner Elk-based photographer Todd Bush captures this image of a “slim moon” on Thursday morning.
Here’s what he had to say about the two photos: “This morning, watching for sunrise, revealed a one percent illuminated [moon] – one day away from new moon. That band of color, that kind of looks like a reflection, is actually the pre-dawn glow in the sky with a dark cloud just above it as seen through the trees in our front yard in Banner Elk. The left shot is with a 35mm, somewhat wide angle lens and the right side with a 300mm telephoto lens.”
