The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild to Hold Monthly Meeting, July 6
The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, July 6th, at 1:00PM. We meet in the conference room on the second floor of the Senior Center on Poplar Grove Connector in Boone. Our program, “Row by Row”, will be presented by Patty Blanton from our local quilt shop — Sew Original. The idea started in New York in 2011 and has spread across the country. Quilters visited participating quilt shops and received a free pattern for a row in a quilt. Then they combined their rows in different ways to create a quilt. The project started nationwide on June 21st and will continue until Labor Day. We will have a brief history of the program, see patterns available from local quilt shops and see examples of row quilts. If you have a row quilt, please bring it to the meeting for show-and-tell. Call Dolores at 295-6148 if you have any questions.
