The Board of Trustees of Appalachian State University and its several committees will meet on Thursday and Friday, March 23-24, 2017, at the Plemmons Student Union (PSU) on the campus of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Appalachian State Softball Family Day, Mar. 11
Join the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and the Watauga Women in Leadership on Saturday, Mar. 11, in cheering on Appalachian State Softball as they go up against UL-Lafayette. Admission is free, so bring your families for a good time for everyone.

Director Wayne Wang’s 1993 adaptation of Amy Tan’s novel, The Joy Luck Club, tells the story, through a series of flashbacks, of four young Chinese women born in America and their respective mothers born in feudal China.

The Watauga County Public Library’s movie group invites you to join us for a viewing of Bridge of Spies on March 16th from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Director Steven Spielberg ‘s 2015 film, Bridge of Spies, tells the story of James B. Donovan, an American lawyer during the Cold War, who is recruited to defend an arrested Soviet spy in court, and then help the CIA facilitate an exchange of the spy for the Soviet captured American U2 spy plane pilot, Francis Gary Powers.
This film has an MPAA rating of PG-13 and an approximate run-time of 142 minutes.
