ARHS Employees “Pay It Forward” This Holiday Season

Traditionally, most organizations in the High Country celebrate the holiday season with an end-of-year party. Although details vary in nature, these parties usually include eggnog, gift-swapping and an excuse to wear that neglected snowman sweater.

This year, Appalachian Regional Healthcare System (ARHS) decided to alter its traditional holiday plans by asking staff to join together to collect supplies for the local food banks in Avery and Watauga County.

Similar to elves in scrubs, employees across the healthcare system warmly embraced the idea by gathering 90 large bags of supplies, enough to fill three four-door sleighs, to donate to those in need in the local community.

“This year’s celebration brought our healthcare system together like never before,” said Kenietha Presnell, Learning Center Catalyst at ARHS. “We are honored to serve these communities and were excited to give back.”

Appalachian Regional Healthcare System would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy holiday season.
