Camp Cats and Canines for Children: July 12, Register by July 5
The Watauga Humane Society is offering a half day program called Camp Cats and Canines for children, ages 8-12, July 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the WHS Adoption Center. The camp will offer children a variety of activities as well as opportunities to learn about such things as appropriate medical care for pets, dog safety, and the role of therapy dogs. Children will tour the Adoption Center, interact with the Center’s animals, and construct crafts with an animal theme. Cost is $75 and includes snacks and craft materials. Participants must register online at www.wataugahumanesociety.org by July 5. All proceeds go to support educational activities of the Watauga Humane Society. Caldwell Arts Council (a Caldwell County, NC non-profit) announces the 31st annual Sculpture Celebration in Lenoir, NC on Saturday September 10, 2016.
Sculptors are invited to bring up to 3 sculptures for this one-day competition for $11,000 in cash awards and potential sales. No commission in event of sales. This annual event brings sculptors and buyers from the eastern United States to Lenoir, North Carolina for this event. Early registration discounts available.
