The internet is a scary place. Come learn to defend your privacy online. This is the first of an ongoing series. White belt level will cover the basics that everyone should know including: Protecting yourself from malware and viruses, keeping your computer up to date, and setting good passwords.

The internet is a scary place. Come learn to defend your privacy online. This is the fourth of an ongoing series. Brown belt level will cover email security. Sending unencrypted email out over the internet is like sending a postcard through the mail. Anyone along the way can see what is written. Learn how to secure your communications with strong encryption and reclaim your privacy. This session will cover PGP encryption for email using Thunderbird and the Enigmail plugin and ”Off the Record” (OTR) messaging using Pidgin.

On Friday, October 28, 2016, the Walker Center welcomes Ernie Haase & Signature Sound with J. Mark McVey. They will present their “Inspirations of Broadway” project. From its formation in 2003, Ernie Haase has built Signature Sound into one of the most popular and beloved quartets in all of Southern Gospel music. The group has traveled all over the world, offering energy, excitement and encouragement through its powerful brand of gospel music. Les Misérables Broadway legend J. Mark McVey joins the gospel quartet for this special project. This performance is sponsored by Great State Bank.
Welcome the holiday season at the Walker Center with “Christmas with The Celts” on Friday, December 2, 2016. This presentation is described as “ancient meets modern” and includes unforgettable, heart-stirring Irish and Scottish Christmas carols. Republican Women to Meet May 25 at Sagebrush
The Watauga County Republican Women’s Club (WCRWC) will have its next monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 25th at the Sagebrush Steakhouse in Boone, NC. The meeting will begin at noon.
