Tedeschi Trucks Band Comes Live to the Schaefer Center Nov 1; Completely Sold Out Show Begins at 8 p.m.

Oct. 31, 2013. After two exceedingly successful shows thus far with Cirque Zuma Zuma and Frank Warren, the Appalachian State University Performing Arts Series will continue their fall season in November.

On Nov. 1 at 8 p.m., the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts will host the Tedeschi Trucks Band, an 11-piece musical ensemble led by husband and wife team Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi.

“They have  a really big following, they are a really popular band,” said Megan Stage, of the department of Arts and Cultural Programs at ASU.

The show is completely sold out, as expected, after tickets were held for students and then released to the general public on Oct. 21. Tickets for the show sold out the very day they were released to the public.

On Friday, Nov. 15, the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts will host Savion Glover’s STePz, a celebration of tap dance and sound. Glover and his team of dancers will showcase complex moves and varied combinations to the awed audience. Tickets to the show are $20 for adults, $16 for faculty and staff and $10 for students with a valid student ID.

The STePz show will signal the end of the 2013 Performing Arts Series at ASU, however, the 2014 section of the series will pick back up in January with many more performances.
