Three People Arrested in ‘Shake and Bake’ Meth Operation at Graggville Road in Boone

Aug. 15, 2014. On Aug. 13, detectives from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit ended a two week long investigation into three individuals purchasing items for the manufacture of methamphetamine.

While executing a searching warrant at 125 Graggville Rd. in Boone, detectives discovered s clan destine “shake and bake” laboratory. The clandestine laboratory was found inside a bag and contained several chemical ingredients and apparatus’ that had been used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Also found was a one liter bottle that contained approximately 400 milliliters of what is suspected of being “methamphetamine oil”, which is methamphetamine, suspended in a liquid prior to the final stage of the manufacturing process.

Three suspects were found at the residence at 125 Graggville Rd. in Boone: Tommy Robbins, 46, Tasha Ritchie, 24, and Gerald Miller, 53, all of whom were living at the residence at the time.

The three suspects were arrested on multiple counts including possession of precursor chemicals with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine, manufacture methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling for the use of a controlled substance.

Robbins and Ritchie were given a $50,000 secured bond and Miller was given a $25,000 secured bond. All three suspects are scheduled to be in court on Sept. 24.
