Three Arrested in Avery County, One for Outstanding Warrant, Two For Miscellaneous Drug Charges

June 18, 2013. On the evening of June 12, deputies with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop on Old Mill Rd in Elk Park.  An occupant of the vehicle was identified as 18-year-old Aamon Webb of Watauga Street in Newland.  Officers found that Webb had warrants for his arrest where he had violated a deferral agreement on felony assault charges from 2011 as well

as a 2013 larceny warrant.  Webb was arrested and placed in the Avery County Jail under a $110,000.00 bond.

On the evening of June 13, officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on N.C. 221 near the McDowell County line.  The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 25-year-old Robert Lowery of Roan Mountain, Tenn.  A passenger was identified as 25-year-old Melissa Dellinger of Crossnore.  During a search of the vehicle driven by Lowery Officers found methamphetamine, marijuana and another schedule II drug.  Both Lowery and Dellinger were charged with felony drug charges and placed in the Avery County Jail.  Lowery received a $100,000.00 bond and Dellinger received a $50,000.00 bond.
