Feeling overdue for some classic High Country tunes? Don’t miss out on traditional roots duo The Harris Brothers this Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Ashe County Civic Center.

Born and raised in western North Carolina, The Harris Brothers have become High Country favorites in the more than 20 years they have played in the area. Skilled on stringed instruments since childhood, the duo is comprised of:

Ryan Harris (vocals, bass)

Reggie Harris (vocals, guitar, suitcase drum, banjo)

The Harris Brothers

Based in Lenoir, The Harris Brothers have developed their own take on mountain music over the years. Grounded with traditional roots, the duo incorporates elements of many Americana traditions in its music, fusing jazz, blues, Appalachian Mountain music, vintage country, bluegrass and a bit of rock and roll.

“A typical live show effortlessly shifts from original tunes to their own arrangements of songs from all sides of the Americana musical spectrum,” the duo’s website says.

The Harris Brothers’ Americana blend has attracted audiences since they began playing the High Country in the late ’80s. Growing up in a musical family, both of the brothers have played in a variety of groups and bands in the area. After playing alongside other local musicians, the brothers eventually formed the duo that continues today.
