The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce Concerts in the Park have been a great success this year! With record numbers of attendees, the park has been filled with music and dancing every Thursday evening this summer. On Thursday, Sept. 3, the Whip Daddies will play the final show of the season. This concert is sponsored by Frank and Mary Watts.
Led by Dave Calvert, the Whip Daddies have become a tradition for this concert series final show. This group of locals often have changes in members, but one thing remains the same: each year they play an excellent show playing classic rock n’ roll for visitors and residents in Banner Elk.
Sharon Robbins, chairperson of the concert series, is delighted at the success of this years concerts. She thanks all the volunteers who helped each week, without who the concerts would not have been possible. The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce also thanks the sponsors for each band and local businesses who have donated prizes.
The show begins at 6:30 p.m. in Tate Evans Park. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the music! A variety of food vendors will be in the park, or you can pack a picnic of your own. For more information call 828-898-8395 or visit www.bannerelk.org.
