Aug. 29, 2013. The Town Tavern in Blowing Rock is airing Appalachian State University’s first football game of the season against University of Montana on their flat screen TVs.
Kickoff for the game is this Saturday at 9:00 p.m. Come out in support of our local football heroes by heading out to Blowing Rock’s newest food venue and latest hot spot on Main Street.
The Town Tavern is a family friendly bar and restaurant that started out in Boone and recently opened their newest location in downtown Blowing Rock. They are known for their reasonable prices and nearly 40 televisions, the smallest of which are still 30 inches.
Two large screen TVs are viewable, one behind the bar and another in a separate room. The building can fit about 80 people, but if it’s all filled up don’t fret. Another 40 people can fit on their outside patio, perfect for enjoying what remains of our beautiful summer weather.
Remember, the game isn’t the only reason to come down to the Town Tavern in Blowing Rock. The bar has nine beers on draft and nightly drink specials. They also have awesome food specials, they even hand batter their own fish, making those fish and chips something truly delectable.
“We have the best chilli hands down in the High Country,” said bar manager Jena Barger.
Just imagine biting into their hot iron quesadillas filled to the brim with savory chicken or pork barbeque, or feeling the heat and spice of their jumbo chicken wings on your tongue.
So come on out to the Town Tavern this Saturday night in Blowing Rock for some of those jumbo wings to watch the Appalachian Mountaineers take on the Montana Grizzlies.
