DownloadedFileThe Todd Summer Music Series showcases the rich musical traditions of the southern Appalachians and over the last decade has brought a  bevy of award winning artists to perform in the community.

This summer, the series features six concerts and includes blues, bluegrass, Americana and a little rock and roll.

Patrons should also bring an appetite — hotdogs, burgers, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

The King Bees, who proudly call Todd home, have played their rocking blues all over the world, from Lincoln Center in New York, to Mississippi juke joints, to European music festivals. If you have not seen them perform in Cook Park, be sure to catch them this summer when they turn the park alive with one of the most entertaining shows you will ever see.

The Todd Summer Music Series is presented by the Todd Community Preservation Organization, a nonprofit organization established in 1999 to develop a sustainable community while preserving the culture, history and natural beauty. The music series is free to attend, but donations are encouraged and most appreciated. The organization depends on the donations of patrons and generosity of sponsors to present the music series each year.

Tickets are also now on sale for TCPO’s season-finale 2013 concert on Saturday, Aug. 24 featuring The Kruger Brothers with Wayne Henderson and Charles Welch.
