“This is a county-wide event that we are facilitating,” said Susan Freeman, Executive Director of the Avery County Chamber of Commerce.

“Last year we had a ball. We had close to 300 people attend last year, and we have decided to move the event around every year. It brings commerce into areas that people may not know about. Last year we had it in Plumtree, and we are going to move it around the county. It is a really fun way to promote our local wineries and breweries.”

Admission to the festival is unique.

“We have a really unique admission,” Freeman said. “We have glasses we have produced with the logo on them. Your admission is your glass, we have wine and beer glasses on sale for $7 per glass, which includes samples too. The wine is for sale, but if you want to you can sample it before you buy it!”

This event is fun for the entire family, with horseback riding through the winery, food, music and more.

“This is really an event where you can kick up for the day and relax, it’s a really fun event,” Freeman said. “We encourage people to bring chairs and blankets and spend the whole day.”
