The Greater Avery Tour de Art Closes Out 2013 with One Last Tour This Saturday, Nov. 23

Nov. 21, 2013. Saturday, Nov. 23 marks the final Greater Avery Tour de Art of the year. The monthly tours are held every fourth Saturday from June to November, inviting art lovers and artists to visit 13 participating galleries and studios. 

imgresFrom 10 a.m.-5 p.m., art loves utilize their complementary Tour Maps available at each gallery and studio to navigate the tour at their leisure. Many stops offer complimentary refreshments along the way as well as opportunities to meet the artists behind the art. 

Now in its fifth year of existence, the Tour has expanded to include areas of western Watauga County like Boone, Foscoe, Valle Crucis  and the Grandfather Community. 

Saturday’s installment promises something special to match the holiday season that is fast approaching. 

“You are invited to be among the first to choose from the exciting, new, one-of-a-kind, world-class creations,” said Sally Nooney of Sally Nooney Gallery.

“Beat the rush of Thanksgiving weekend and discover your local ‘treasure boxes’ filled with original art in a huge variety of mediums.”

The participating galleries in the final Tour de Art of the year are as follows: 

  • Anville Arts Studio at 9600 Linville Highway in Linville Falls
  • Crossnore Fine Arts Gallery at 205 Johnson Lane 
  • Linville River Pottery located at 2180 Goose Hollow Road in Pineola
  • Pam Brewer Studio at 41 Redbird Lane in Newland
  • Linville Arts District (including 87 Ruffin Street Folk Art Gallery, The Old Hampton Store and resident artists) off of U.S. 221 in Linville
  • The Art Cellar Gallery at 920 Shawneehaw Avenue in Banner Elk
  • Carlton Gallery at 10360 N.C. 105 in Foscoe
  • Studio of Mike Hill at Art Purveyors World HQ at 112 Aldridge Park
  • Maggie Black Pottery located at 1225 N.C. 105 in Foscoe
  • Kevin Beck Studio located at 1590 Shull’s Mill Road off of N.C. 105
  • Alta Vista Gallery at 2839 Broadstone Road in Valle Crucis
  • Rivercross Market at 3595 N.C. 194 South in Valle Crucis
  • Sally Nooney Gallery at 7137 N.C. 194 South in Matney
