The Eleventh Annual ‘Midnight at the OASIS’ to be Held on Friday, May 2 at the Meadowbrook Inn

April 17, 2014. The Meadowbrook Inn in Blowing Rock will once again play host to the eleventh annual Midnight at the OASIS on Friday, May 2.

MAO-2014-posterThe annual fundraiser held at the Meadowbrook Inn each year helps to raise funds for OASIS, a local nonprofit agency that provides services and support for victims on interpersonal violence in Watauga and Avery Counties.

The fundraiser will feature life music from Latitude along with a cash bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and this year there will be special testimonials from survivors.

“This is our biggest fundraiser, but more so, we like to do this in an effort to network and get the word out about us and what we do,” said Laila Patrick of OASIS.

“It is about getting us out there in the community to let people know what we do.”

And what they do is a lot.

Since 1978, OASIS has offered many different services to victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault including a 24-hour crisis line for survivors of domestic violence, confidential emergency shelter for women and children, short term crisis intervention counseling, support and advocacy for legal and medical processes, case management information and referrals, transitional housing, support and services and skill development programs as well as support groups and more.

Tickets for the event are $35 each and go toward a fabulous cause. Tickets can be purchased online here, at the door to the event or at the OASIS office.

The OASIS office is located at 225 Birch Street in Boone.
