June 3, 2014. On Thursday, June 5, the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum will host a special student reception for the “Young at Art” student artwork exhibition.

The student art show reception will he held from 5-6 p.m.

“Young at Art” is an art education program that is offered to kindergarden through second grade to help supplement Blowing Rock Elementary School’s art program. Each student from the 2013-14 school year has a piece of artwork on display at the museum.

This program allows students to visit the museum once a month for a lesson about art or art history along with a hands-on art project. Students experiment with different mediums and techniques and get a chance to visit the museum galleries once a month.

This program is provided by the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum  and is supported by additional funding from the Blowing Rock Community Foundation. BRAHM is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to the community.

The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum is located at 159 Chestnut St. in downtown Blowing Rock. For more information about this program, exhibits or the museum, call 828-295-9099 or visit www.BlowingRockMuseum.org.
