May 19, 2014. The Friends of the Watauga County Library Book Sale, held May 15-17, was once again a massive success.

The annual book sale is a three-day event that features a variety of books for every taste. The sale began on Thursday, May 15 for Friends of the library members and was open to the general public on May 16 and 17 at the Boone Mall.

The books came from donations that the Watauga County Library received throughout the year.

This year, the total raised by the sale was $7,600, according to County Librarian Monica Caruso.

“A lot of the money goes toward summer reading programs, materials like children’s and young adult books and audio/visuals and adult books as well,” Caruso said.
