June 19, 2014. The 2014 season of the Newland Riverwalk Concert Series will kick off with a bang on June 20 with the Americana stylings of Nautical Wheelers.
The Newland Riverwalk Summer Concert Series, sponsored by the Town of Newland and Newland Business Association, will feature free music Fridays from 6 – 9 p.m. rain or shine at the Newland Band Shell and Park.
If it rains, concerts will be at the Heritage Arts Center, located next to Sandee’s Restaurant, at the light in Newland. Vendors with hot dogs, pizza, sodas, water, desserts and more will be selling weekly.
The concert series will showcase local Avery County talent via open mike during the 20-minute half-time break and weekly prizes are given out via drawings and trivia questions.

- Aug. 8 – Red Dirt Revelators (Rockin’ Blues)
- Aug. 15 – Tone Blazers (Bluegrass)
- Aug. 22 – Moore Bros Band with Fireworks (Newgrass)
