July 3, 2013. The 19th annual High Country Bead, Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show will be making its way back to the High Country this month, a true treat for jewelry lovers and gem enthusiasts alike.
On July 19 through 21, the show will be hosted at the Boone National Guard Armory located at 274 Hunting Hills Lane in Boone, one block from Watauga Medical Center off of State Farm Road.
The hours for the show are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the closing Sunday. Admission to the show is $2 per person and one ticket is good for all three days of the show. Children under 16 years of age can come and enjoy the show for free. There will also be door prizes, and plenty of parking is available for patrons.
Present at the show will be jewelry makers, goldsmiths and silversmiths from all over the United States who can reconstruct, repair, design or make original jewelry from customer selected gems, stones, opals and crystals. Gem trees, wire wrap, wire sculpture, stone beads, stone setting, amber, opal, mineral and fossil dealers will also be in attendance.
There will be hourly door prizes as well, including a gold ring with a stone to be given away as a grand prize. There will also be a giveaway of a package of tumbled stones to all the children. For more information about the show, please call 540-384-6047.
