The 19th Annual High Country Bead, Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show Scheduled for July 19-21

July 19, 2013. For almost two decades, the Annual High Country Bead, Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show has showcased original jewelry pieces, gemstone artwork and natural treasures to natural stone enthusiasts all throughout the area. This year, the show will take place on July 19-21 at the Boone National Guard Armory located on Hunting Hills Lane in Boone off of State Farm Road.  The expo, which is put on each year by Treasures Of The Earth (TOTE) from Virginia will showcase unique demonstrations and exhibitions from veteran jewelry makers, expert goldsmiths, silversmiths and other artisans from all across the country. 

Aside from simply purchasing wares from the artists, there will also be reconstruction, repairs and custom designing available for customers to enjoy. 

The High Country Bead, Gem, Mineral and Jewelry show this year will run Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $2, which is good for all three days of the expo. Children under 16 are welcome to the expo with no charge. Parking for the event is also free. 

TOTE encourages the whole family to come to the event. For the kids, there will be goodie bags available filled with tumbled stones.

The armory is located at 274 Hunting Hills Lane, near the hospital and behind Fire Station No. 2. Watch for permanent highway departmental directional signs leading to the Armory.

All shows in National Guard Armory’s are subject to being canceled if the Guard Unit is activated or there is a State or National Emergency.
