Aug 2, 2013 On Friday, Aug 23, Wisconsin nightgaze band Technicolor Teeth will play at Black Cat Burrito in downtown Boone. The cover is $5, and the show runs from 10 p.m. through 2 a.m. Local spacey alternative band Viewfinder is also on the ticket with the possibility of more bands to be added later.
Technicolor Teeth originally hails from Wisconsin. The trio’s spacey and eccentric brand of psychedelic and new-wave inspired sound is best described as bizarrely contemplative and introspective.
From six-string madness to synthesizer acrobatics, their blend of post-punk and shoe-gaze sets them apart from their contemporaries. The band released a 7-inch single earlier this on year Accidental Guest Recordings which features a new track entitled “Blood Pool.”
Local favorite Viewfinder draws on 1960s garage rock as well as early ’90s alternative, producing a fuzzy and simple three-chord sound that’s bare-bones in the best of ways.
Floating just beyond traditional genre definitions, Viewfinder is a candid and energetic band with attitude in abundance, a must see for fans of all kinds of music
