On Monday, May 9, the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center host its annual Mother’s Day Bake Off event.

Eight women made their best baked items and competed for first place. Items from Rhubarb Parfait to Gingerbread to Italian Cream Cake and many others were available for everyone to try. Homemade recipes that have been passed down through generations are always the top favorites.

The voting was close; however, Teresa Greer came out on top with her Butterscotch Delight. Second place was Thelma Edmisten (not pictured) who made German Chocolate Cake. The seniors are already planning their next bake off! Contact the Senior Center for more information about classes and activities, 828-265-8090.
