Blue Ridge Mountain Club, a premier mountain home community based in Blowing Rock, will host its Summer Soulstice Music Festival on June 20. All proceeds will support the Hospitality House, a Boone-based nonprofit organization aimed at breaking the cycle of crisis, poverty and homelessness in the area.

Doors will open at 3 p.m. and guests will convene on the outdoor pavilion at BRMC, which is located equidistant between Blowing Rock and Boone, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.brmc02

Music will last until 10 p.m. featuring the sounds of Klee Liles and Coconut Groove. Performances will begin with an acoustic set from J. Patrick Warren and Karen Leigh, Patrick and Kay Harris and A Love Like This.

Dinner and refreshments will be available for sale from Woodlands Barbecue and the Blowing Rock Ale House.

This outdoor music festival is free and open to the public, although donations will be accepted for the Hospitality House. RSVP is appreciated but not required. RSVP to Bailey Kinsman by phone at 828-295-8667 or by email at bkinsman@brmountainclub.com.

ABOUT THE HOSPITALITY HOUSE

Established in 1984, the Hospitality House remains a place to get a hand up, not a handout, according to its website.

“Through the provisions of food, shelter and supportive services, the goal is for every adult and child to leave empowered and equipped with the skills that will allow them to transition from crisis to stability, poverty to sustainability and homelessness to self-sufficiency,” the site reads.
