The Appalachian Ice Arena will open on a regular schedule for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with sessions offered from 12-2 p.m., 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Enjoy the day outside Ice Skating this weekend!

Sugar Mountain Resort Is Back Open

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is back open. Guests can expect to ride the Summit Express chairlift to Sugar’s peak servicing the Northridge, Switchback, Upper and Lower Flying Mile slopes. Six to 20 inches of manmade packed powder and frozen granular snow cover the slopes.

The full day session runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The half-day session begins at 12:30 p.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. Twilight sessions begin at 12:30 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. The night session operates from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Sugar’s 10,000 square foot outdoor ice rink is open and the tubing park will open as soon as weather permits.

The Sugar Mountain Ski and Snowboard School and the Equipment Rental Shop are both fully operational. Sugar Mountain Sports Shop, located in the Base Lodge, is open and features the finest in winter apparel and footwear, quality gift items, and souvenirs.
