Sugar Mountain Resort held their 27th Annual Oktoberfest Celebration on October 14-15. The celebration took place from 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., both days, and was located at The Sugar Mountain Resort. The 27th year of Oktoberfest was said to be the greatest success yet.
For those who missed the celebration, there was a live Bavarian band, along with American music. Festival attendees did not have to leave for meals, there was a variety of German and American foods, along with a plethora of drink options. It was very common to see people drink large mugs of beer. For families, there was a children’s area that offered activities ranging from hayrides to corn hole to pumpkin bowling, water balloon tosses, and more. The bounce house was a favorite amongst the kids. The festival had free admission.
The crowd’s favorite event was possibly the Bavarian Costume Contest. Folks from all over competed in their best Bavarian garments, which provided an interesting cultural learning opportunity and simultaneous entertainment. The Bavarian costume contest was a blast that was enjoyed by all.
The craft vendors, food vendors, and chairlift rides completed the festival. For those who missed Oktoberfest this year, keep watch for the 28th Annual Sugar Mountain Resort Oktoberfest.
