Jan. 9, 2015. The icy waterways and lakes in the region won’t be thawing out tonight as more subzero wind chill temperatures are on the way.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory that begins after midnight and runs until 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. The NWS is forecasting wind chill temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees below zero and up to 15 degrees below zero across the higher elevations.

The temperature is expected to be in the single digits and teens by early Saturday.

“After a very cold start to Saturday, temperatures moderate somewhat by afternoon,” RaysWeather.com notes in its forecast discussion on Friday. “Sunday has increasing clouds. You’ll soon need to turn your attention to potential for wintry precipitation events next week, beginning Sunday evening.”

The entire Saturday should be below freezing the entire day with a high of 30, according to RaysWeather.com. Sunday has a high of 38 with a low of 31. To read a more detailed forecast, click to RaysWeather.com.
