March 18, 2014. Spring will officially arrive at 12:57 p.m. on Thursday in the High Country, but it sure doesn’t feel or look like spring. Check out the attached photos from Tuesday morning.

While Thursday, Friday and Saturday temps are forecasted to be around the mid 50s, RaysWeather.com notes that “it’s not going to last.”

“Unfortunately, springlike weather will be delayed this year, as unseasonable chill will be with us for the extended outlook,” a post on RaysWeather.com’s Facebook page reads.

The post included an attached image from the National Weather Service that depicts the six- to 10-day weather outlook for March 23 to 27 that confirms the “unseasonable chill.” See that image below.

All of this, though, isn’t unusual.

Even though spring officially begins on March 20 every year, growers usually play it safe and – as a general rule – don’t begin planting until Mother’s Day.

Does it feel like spring to you?

While the weekend is expected to be nice weather, an extended weather outlook isn’t so gracious.
