Snow Flurries in the Forecast Friday, Saturday – Even Thursday Above 5,000 Feet

Snow flurries and showers are expected in Boone on Friday and Saturday, and land above 5,000 feet will see snowflakes on Thursday afternoon, according to forecasts by RaysWeather.com.

The weather outlet noted that “precipitation will be generally light throughout” the next few days.

“Expect only dusting-level accumulations mostly Friday night with 1″+ accumulations limited to 4000’+ elevations and 2″-4″ in 5000′-land. Blustery winds are with us through Saturday,” RaysWeather.com noted.

Saturday will be the coldest day in the near forecast with a low of 19 degrees and a high of 36 degrees – or as Ray noted, “ridiculously cold.”

For Thursday, the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory through 8 p.m. Westerly winds are of 20 to 30 mph are noted with gusts up to 50 mph. A wind advisory means that wind gusts of more than 45 to 55 mph are expected.
