Sir Winston Churchill’s Descendent Makes Historic Visit To Boone, Appalachian State University Saturday

March 21, 2014. Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill’s great grandson is traveling to Boone to deliver a very special invitation to some talented young students on Saturday, March 22.

The former Lord Mayor of the City of Westminster, Councillor Duncan Sandys (pronounced Sands) is to invite the Appalachian State University Marching Band to participate in the 29th New Year’s Day Parade & Festival in London on January 1, 2015.

The highly prestigious turn of year tradition is established as the biggest event of its kind anywhere in the World – and comes at a time when interest in the UK Capital has never been greater.
