April 2, 2013. Throughout the month of March, Shear Shakti housed a collection of art by students from Two Rivers Community School and donated art by the artists at Speakeasy Tattoo Company. The show was organized by Speakeasy’s Eric Marks and all items were up for auction and all proceeds benefited the art program at Two Rivers Community School.

The “For the Schools” silent auction took place throughout the month of March and, in total, raised over $400 for the Two Rivers Community School art program, according to Shala Massey of Shear Shakti.

Massey said of all the local schools, Two Rivers Community School was the only school that wanted to participate in the show.

“We are definitely looking forward to doing it again next year and we hope that more schools participate next year,” Massey said, adding that Shear Shakti is hoping the show can become an annual event going forward.
