Search warrants conducted by deputies with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office led to several drug busts in the past couple weeks.
On Jan. 17, 2017, officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on a residence located at 31 Licklog Rd. During the search marijuana, scales, and baggies where located. This in turn led to the arrest of Andrew Daniels and Amanda Dyack for possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver marijuana and maintain a vehicle/dwelling.


On Jan. 19, 2017, officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on a residence located at 250 Boones Fork Ln. During the search officers located 3 oz of marijuana and 2 grams of dabs (which is butane hash oil, extracted from marijuana).
The controlled substances located led to the arrest of Kyler Johnson for Possession with intent to manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Marijuana, Felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent, sell or deliver schedule VI, and maintain a vehicle/dwelling.

On January 21, 2017, Charles Lewis Jackson and Aljonette Jackson where arrested on charges of trafficking opiates. The arrest followed a package being received in the mail containing 262 Hydrocodone pills.
On Jan. 23, 2017 a search warrant was served on the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson during which 44 Hydrocodone pills where located. On Jan. 25, 2017 another package was intercepted that contained 216 Hydrocodone pills.


On January 16, 2017 Officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jorge Juarez for possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana following a search of his residence in Banner Elk.
