Jan. 7, 2015. Due to the winter weather, Watauga County Schools and Avery County Schools will dismiss early on Wednesday.
Kindergarten through eighth grade in Watauga County Schools will dismiss at 11 a.m., while Watauga High School will have early release at noon.
Watauga County Schools will also operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday, Jan. 8 – as of Wednesday morning.
Avery County Schools will also close early at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7. The operation plan for Thursday has yet to be announced.
