School Board Recognitions in October

Recognitions at the October meeting of the Watauga County Board of Education included all of the county’s principals, a volunteer at Blowing Rock Elementary School and the school board itself. See images below.

The Watauga County Board of Education recently received the Golden Bell award from the NC School Board Association, the highest professional development honor available to Boards of Education. The award recognizes that all five Board members have met the Association’s highest standards for the completion of training that strengthens their understanding of their roles as Board members.

The Servant’s Heart Award was presented to Julie Anderson, a volunteer at Blowing Rock School. Anderson works with students in Blowing Rock’s band program and has had a considerable impact on Blowing Rock students, according to band teacher Kyle Hernandez-Adams.
