Below are Watauga County Board of Education recognitions for November:
Hardin Park AIG teacher Emily Rothrock and fourth-grade teacher Jessie Presell-Greene with Hardin Park fourth-grader Sam Nystrom, who was recognized by the board after his victory in the county-wide spelling bee.More than 20 Watauga County Schools teachers were on hand at the Board of Education meeting to take receipt of Watauga Education Foundation Grants.Standing between WCS Supt. Scott Elliott and WHS Principal Marshall Gasperson, WHS French teacher Heather Tedder was recognized by the board after she was selected as an ‘Incredible World Language Teacher’ by the Foreign Language Association of North Carolina in October. Amanda Romjue, who nominated Tedder for the award said, ‘Heather Tedder is one of those teachers who is so engaging and entertaining, that you may feel like you need to buy a ticket to be in her classroom.’Tedder is congratulated by board member Dr. Jay Fenwick.
