April 22, 2013. The schedule for the Summer Concerts in the Park presented by Banner Elk Chamber and the Town of Banner Elk has been released.
Always a fun time, the free concerts begin on June 20 with the King Bees and ends on August 29 with the Whip Daddys. Concerts are held each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Tate-Evans Park behind Bank of America in downtown Banner Elk.
A press release added, “There will be raffle tickets sold for wonderful prizes and a cash drawing. Also, there will be several food vendors from which to choose or you can bring your own. Come unwind with us, “shake a leg” on the dance floor, listen to great music and socialize with wonderful people. Friendly well-behaved dogs are permitted if they are on a leash.”
Each weekly concert has a different sponsor. Those include Morningstar Mini-Storage, Eagle Ridge Builders, The Action Group, Dr. Carol Schaffer, Lees-McRae College (twice), Pet Spa, Banner Elk United Methodist Church, Subway, Appalachian Brian Estates and Frank and Mary Watts.
See flyer below for more details on all of the bands, style of music and dates.
